Imtiaz Ali, the filmmaker who wrote the story of the upcoming film ‘Laila Majnu’ in collaboration with his brother Sajid Ali, says that initially, his intention was not to make a film on it. Whenever we had to read stories or heard some of the folktale collections, ‘Laila Majnu’ story was one of them. The question always comes to our mind about what happened to Majnu and when Laila came face to face with all the obstructions, why did she refuse to accept it?
Imtiaz said that When he was trying to figure out the life of Majnu and his problems also why he did such things. As long as he took it off on paper, the picture of this story was still not clear in his mind, he started writing it properly. Meanwhile, he realized that he has written a lot of scenes. When he got film producer Pretty Ali, he shared the story with him and found the best to direct by his brother Sajid Ali.
This film is presented by Imtiaz, two new faces are Tripti Dimri and Avinash Tiwari. The co-producer of the film is Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, and Pretty Ali. The movie ‘Laila Majnu’ will be released on 7th September.
